and avoiding litter, saving energy, learning how to use wild plants

Участь учнів 5-8 класів у міжнародній освітній програмі IEARN
У цьому навчальному році мої учні долучились
до міжнародної освітньої програми IEARN. Ми вирішили прийняти участь у проекті Holiday Card Exchange
Title: Holiday Card Exchange
SUMMARY
Classrooms explain their
holiday traditions by sending cards to their partners around the world.
DESCRIPTION
Teachers and students prepare
an envelope with holiday cards to send to the other participants between October
- December. Students may send Chinese New Year, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or
Eid greeting cards or cards that show local celebrations during December or
January. Each school will be placed in a group with approximately seven other
schools and will prepare either handmade or purchased cards (decorations may be
included) to send to each of the other schools.

Stage 1 - Preparation of cards - August 19 - November

Students prepare and send cards to their seven partners. (Optional: Students may organise activities to raise funds to cover the cost of materials and postage.)

Stage 2 - Communication online with partners -

Classes send information about their school, country, cultural activities, recipes and photos related to their celebrations in the December and January to each other online. Students may post messages to each other in the Holiday forum and ask questions about their new friends in the partner schools. Teachers may arrange video conference with partners.

Each classroom will receive an
envelope with cards from a number of different countries and will be able to
make an exhibition to show their school community. Students will learn about
holiday traditions in other countries.
